| Claudia Christian does it all, she's an actor, a writer, a musician, a singer and most recently a director ("Heartbreak Cafe") and she continues to expand her horizons. A veteran in the industry for almost 20 years, Christian made one of her most memorable performances in her feature film acting debut in the cult classic Hidden, The (1987) opposite Kyle MacLachlan. She went on from there to star in over 40 features including classics such as Clean and Sober (1988) starring Michael Keaton and Morgan Freeman, the leading role of Hexina in Columbia's comedy Hexed (1993), opposite Charlie Sheen in 20th Century Fox's Chase, The (1994) and as a lesbian photographer in Adam Rifkin's quirky feature _Never On Tuesday (1988)_ Recently, Claudia was in the lead role of Helga Sinclair in Disney's animated release of Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Search for the Journal (2001) (VG), with Michael J. Fox. With a host of diverse films to her credit, she has continues into the HBO feature market with, Running Home (1999) and Substitute 3: Winner Takes All, The (1999) (TV) co-starring Treat Williams. Also making her mark in independent films, Claudia donned a fat suit and stepped into the rude and crude role of "Elaine Kilgore" from her hit indie film True Rights (2000). The film did extremely well and won numerous awards on the indi circuit. Additionally, Claudia recently sold her first screenplay, "White Buffalo", which will begin production in the fall of 2002. This film will be her feature film directorial debut. In addition to her film credits, Christian's work in television is also extensive and includes the lead role as the bisexual Commander Susan Ivanova in the Warner Bros. syndicated internationally recognized top cult television series "Babylon 5" (1994) (aired 1994-1997). She has also starred in two TNT produced telefilms based upon the series. Christian received Sci-Fi Awards and Universe Awards best actress nominations for her role in the series. Other television credits include numerous movies of the week starring with such greats as Faye Dunaway, Peter Falk, Bob Hope, Don Ameche, Sharon Stone and Jacklyn Smith among many others. She's also been seen frequently on network television in shows such as, "Freaks and Geeks, "Family Law", "NYPD Blue" and "Highlander", just to name a few. One of Claudia's many passions is music and writing. She wrote both lyrics and music for her first CD "Taboo" which she co-produced with Michael Jay. She also has produced and sang on two additional albums, "Claudia Squared" and the jazz & blues album, "Trying to Forget". Her long awaited fourth CD "Once Upon a Time" has her working again with the extremely talented musician and her Babylon 5 co-star Bill Mumy and recent winners of the John Lennon Song writing award, Share and Bam Ross. Always expanding her musical horizons, she recently went to Scotland last summer and recorded the album for the first ever Sci-Fi Musical "Area 51". As an author, Claudia has written a series of children's books entitled "The Misadventures of Miss Emma Bradford". Always one to explore cutting edge technology, Claudia also stars on the Internet series "Love Bytes", a sitcom about a dating service that actually gets viewers dates. Her voice can also be heard as the character "DeWinter" in Westwood Studio's live-action internet on line game entitled "Earth and Beyond" and she's the lead voice in "The Summoner2" for Playstation. She also recently narrated the five part mini series for VH1 titled "below the waist: men, women and music", and was hand picked by Jaguar as the voice to represent their sleek line of automobiles. Fans can catch Claudia at the box office later in 2002 starring opposite Steven Seagal in the action thriller, Half Past Dead (2002). Claudia Christian was born on August 10, 1965 in Glendale, California. Her family moved to Connecticut some afterwards. At age 5, Claudia was bitten by the acting bug when she played a Native American in a school play. After her family returned to California, she graduated high school at 16, and set out to start her acting career. She worked in a coffee house and then at a clothing store for two years before landing her debut acting role making a guest appearance on the soap, "Dallas" (1978). Her next acting appearance she played Kara in the televison movie, Calendar Girl Murders (1984) (TV). Claudia Christian's big break came when she landed the part of Susan Ivanova on the science fiction series _Babylon 5" (1994)_ . Her grandfather is a surgeon and her three older brothers are genetic engineers and veterinarians. Claudia Christian listens to opera, painting, extreme sports, playing piano, collecting antiques and hosting marvelous dinner parties. Claudia is fluent in French, Italian and German and enjoys acting in these languages. Claudia was voted "sexiest woman in sci-fi" by SFX Magazine in 1998. |
