| Appealing brunette whose distinctive face conveys maturity and youthful sultriness equally well. Her first parts came in The Dorm That Dripped Blood (1981), The Initiation (1983), and VisionQuest (1985). Then Rob Reiner cast her as the straitlaced collegiate won over by John Cusack in the betterthan-average teen comedy The Sure Thing (1985). She's been good in her subsequent film roles, but the films themselves haven't measured up: Modern Girls (1986), Mel Brooks' Spaceballs (1987), which cast her as a Druish princess, Last Rites (1988), Gross Anatomy, The Fly II and Staying Together (all 1989), the last a little-seen comedy-drama directed by Lee Grant. In 1992 she won a berth on the hit TV series "Melrose Place." |

| Daphne, I am watching, A Sure Thing. I have been a fan of yours for years. I went into your Biography sight and it gave this address. I was surprised to see that you have not been married and don't have children. You are a very pretty person. But like I have 2 boys and I have always said that children are way over rated. I am 47 and my boys are 26 and 22 and no matter how old they get you still worry about them. I just wanted to say that I think you are a great actress. That is it. | |
