| A multiple Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee for her role as Lois in the Fox hit sitcom, Malcolm in the Middle, Jane Kaczmarek has been guest starring on television since the 1980's. Beginning in 1983, she had a three-episode role in St. Elsewhere, guested on Remington Steele, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and later made guest appearances on L.A. Law, Law and Order and Party of Five (1994), Frasier (1996), and Felicity (1999). She had regular roles in the series Hometown (1985), Equal Justice (1990-91), and Big Wave Dave's (1993). Kaczmarek has appeared in many TV movies and miniseries, including, Something About Amelia (1984), The Last Leaf (1984), The Right of the People (1986), The Christmas Gift (1986), and I'll Take Manhattan (1987). Her films include Uncommon Valor (1983), Falling in Love with Robert De Niro (1984), The Heavenly Kid (1985), D.O.A. with Dennis Quaid (1988), and Pleasantville (1998). In 1994, Kaczmarek appeared Off-Broadway in Kindertransport, playing a Jewish woman who sends her daughter to England for safety during the Holocaust. She later reprised that role in California. Born December 21, 1955, in Milwaukee, WI, Kaczmarek is married to actor Bradley Whitford, and they have three children. |
