| Kristy McNichol, born September 11, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, began acting in commercials at age six. Her role as Buddy Lawrence in the drama Family made her one of the most popular teen stars of the seventies. She has appeared in many television movies and feature films over the years including Little Darlings, The Pirate Movie, and Only When I Laugh. She returned to series work with Empty Nest in 1988, but left the show in 1992, suffering from severe bouts of manic-depression. She is the daughter of a former actress, and her brother Jimmy McNichol is also an actor. |
