| She had the face of an angel and the body of a ... well, you know the rest. And that was precisely Antonelli's appeal during her heyday in the 1970s, when the screen had liberalized its portrayal of sexual mores. The voluptuous brunette might have been another Bardot; unfortunately a string of fairly unmemorable pictures and a lack of Bardot's je ne sais quoi kept her from advancing beyond sex-symbol status. Her most popular pictures stateside include The Divine Nymph (1971), Till Marriage Do Us Part, Malicious (both 1974), The Innocent (1978, one of her best, the last film of director Luchino Visconti), and Wifemistress (1977). Last seen here opposite Tony Musante in 1989's Collector's Item Antonelli was once linked romatically with French star Jean-Paul Belmondo. |
