| Rena Tanaka (born 22 May 1980) is a Japanese actress and TV personality. In 1999 she won the Japanese Academy Award for 'Best Newcomer' for her performance in Ganbatte ikimasshoi; in 2001 she received a 'Best Actress' nomination for Hatsukoi. Rena Tanaka is a very popular model in Japan, and is also known as the Queen of commercials, having been featured in many commercials since 1998. It was also in 1998 that she debut in her first movie "Gambare Ikimashoi" (Give it Your All). She went on to perform in several other movies (which are listed on her movie page), and continued to model and star in commercials. |
