| Sabrina Salerno (born on 15 March, 1968) in Genoa, Italy is a popular Italian singer and also model, dancer and producer. She is also an actress who has appeared in a number of European TV series, movies and theatre. In 1989 she appeared in the film Fratelli d'Italia with Jerry Calà. On 2005 she won the best actress critics awards for the film "Colori" at the famous Italian Salerno´s Cinema Festival. She initially used the single-name credit Sabrina under which she had very popular hits in the late 1980s such as "Boys", "Hot Girl", "Sexy Girl", "Like a yoyo", "All of me" (Stock Aitken and Waterman) and "My Chico". For more recent recordings, she is now using her full name Sabrina Salerno and she had a lot of popular hits all over the world like "Maschio Dove Sei", "Fatta e rifatta", "Siamo Donne", "I Love you", "Rockawillie" and "Angel Boy". Sabrina has worked with famous music-producers: Giorgio Moroder, Stock Aitken & Waterman, Vasco Rossi, Massimo Riva, Joe Satriani(Satch), Dj Mori, Benny Bennassi, Morato, Orlando Johnson, D. Simon, Neal AD, Enrico Monti, Claudio Cecchetto... She performed live at the Montreux Pop Festival in 1988. Another famous performance was in 1989 at Olympic Stadium of Moscú where 50000 people gathered during 3 days to enjoy Sabrina´s shows & music. Sabrina was photographed naked in erotic magazines (such as appearing on the cover of the British magazine, Mayfair), and she is also known for her revealing music videos (her videos for "My Chico" and "Boys" were banned in some places as her breasts were accidentally exposed in each). She is now considered an erotic star, those photos and clips circulating in large quantities all over the Internet. At the height of her career, Sabrina entered into a well-publicized "feud" with UK topless model-turned-singer Samantha Fox. Magazines such as Playboy played up the "war of words" between the two over who was the sexier singer. There's no evidence to suggest that this was anything more than a publicity stunt. In 2001 Sabrina Salerno made a tour all around Italy with the successful musical "Emozioni", now Sabrina is focusing on her music career and she has recently (on 2005) released one new single "I Feel Love (Good sensation)" which is full of energy. Sabrina Salerno has sold more than 20 million records all over the world and she has received awards such as "The Best European Singer" in 1988. |
